Ain’t dere no more! First lit in 1831 the brick lighthouse at Pass Christian was one of the first light houses in Mississippi’s state history. Operated until the sale of the land in 1882, it was later demolished.
Though the light no longer stands, in the history of the Mississippi Gulf Coast it is notable as one of the earliest permanent lighthouses in the state, and as the site of covert actions in the American Civil War.
